Beneficial Insect Habitat Border

Attracting beneficial insects is an important element of least toxic pest control.  The beneficial insect habitat border will include a variety of nectar and pollen-rich flowering plants to attract beneficial predatory insects to the garden.  These predatory insects will help control pest insect populations in the neighboring Vegetable Garden.

Beneficial Insect Habitat Border Before
The Beneficial Insect Habitat Border will include a variety of
perennial flowering plants and shrubs that will help screen
the Vegetable Garden planting to the west from the rest of
the park.

Our Vision for the Beneficial Insect Habitat Border

Native buckwheats (Eriogonum spp.) are great plants for
attracting beneficial insects throughout the spring and
summer.
