Vegetable Garden
Originally designed to be a wildflower meadow, this oval-shaped bed
on the north side of the garden was empty except for some poppies and
weeds for the last few years. The sunny exposure and more
informal setting in this part of the garden make it well-suited for
growing vegetables and other annual edible plants. The Vegetable
Garden ties the gardens thematically to the fresh produce of the
neighboring Farmers Market and will support Davis Farm to School
Connection education programs for children and families.

| The garden was planted with tomatoes, eggplants, peppers, basil, melons, cucumbers, and squash this spring. This early summer image shows the warm season crops developing. |
The garden was planted with broccoli, carrots, radishes, beets,
and a wide variety of leafy greens at the end of the summer. Green tape outlines newly seeded areas. These cool season crops will keep the garden productive through the fall and winter. |
